Security in the Transatlantic Space: Defence, Energy, & NATO

With conflicts still active in the Middle East, a war ragining in the heart of Europe in Ukraine, and the influence of Russia, China, and Iran spreading through the Global South, the need for a strong transatlantic alliance has never been greater. In this first roundtable, we willl address the key issues faced when it comes to transatlantic security, from boosting energy security through US energy imports to the EU, to focusing on how Europe can do more to pay their share in NATO.

Economic Opportunities of Trump II: EU Trade and Innovation

The United States remains the single biggest destination for EU exports, with around 20% of all EU goods being exported to America. In return the EU is the second largest destination for US goods exported – accounting for around 13% of exports. On top of that – large tech and service companies continue to dominate the EU market – with the European Commission increasingly taking out punitive meassures against American companies such as Meta, X, and Amazon. In this roundtable we will discuss the future of the US-European economic relationship, and where both sides can cooperate on developing technologies.
