New Direction is pleased to announce its 2023 Summer University taking place in Croatia from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th July. This year in partnership with Croatian Centre for the Renewal of Culture.
The overarching theme of the discussions will be “The Conservative Challenge Today”. An intense and decisive struggle is under way in Europe and beyond. Reheated versions of old fashioned Socialism and new Left movements, masquerading as liberal, are trying to subvert traditional Western values. That confrontation involves not just government but nationhood and the identity of the human person.
How can conservatives fight back and win? What issues must we address? What messages should we press? Our Summer University will deal with all this – working from first principles and historic experience.
Distinguished international and local speakers will address the following themes in a series of lectures, accompanied by panel discussions:
