Adj. Prof. Andrea Giuricin

The digital market in Latin America - setting regulation to promote its development

DOWNLOAD

This report underlines how a single and convergent digital market is already a reality in many parts of Latin America. The market has become more and more integrated, not just between media and telecom operators, but also with new players, such as the giants of the web (Google, Facebook, Apple and Amazon).

The increase in the demand of data should have an answer from the operators that they have to invest to build a new infrastructure. Mr. Giuricin argues that regulation and policy are key factors for the development of this investment and offers recommendations of how Latin American governments can bolster this growing market by adopting a more flexible and modern regulatory environment.
